Latin America & Caribbean: water supply data

Most of the efforts to serve people with improved water supply have been made in urban areas with some 119 million more people served between 1990 and 2004. These efforts have enabled to keep up with the increase of urban dwellers (+ 113 million) and improve coverage by 3%.

Rural areas of Latin America and the Caribbean have seen some good progress: the percentage of people served with improved water supply having risen by some 13% (+ 15 million).
